Founder of an AI Self-Optimization App Reading and Applying the Startup Hero by Tim Draper
And Deal Partner at Boardy Ventures?!
I learned from Tim Draper’s book that being kind, never compromising my morals as that sets culture and long-term vision, generates the best returns. The book blurs the line between VCs and founders, emphasizing what it means to be a Startup Hero- audacity, knowledge, and pursuit of a market opportunity. That’s key.
An example of the book helping me set culture in everything I do, was how I helped out a homeless person, when I felt that I needed helping myself. The principles of the book and how Tim travailed in his journey in setting precedent of venture, exploring new cultures such as his philanthropy in China and Mongolia to help those starving.
It reminded me that I had agency to budget and help out people within my means and that kindness is not just giving, but can be used as impetus for a greater purpose, and requisites level headedness to not get usurped- to save enough fuel for ourselves and to keep going on the journey. My day with this woman made me also realize that it takes a lot to usurp someone like me. I’ve always been so afraid of it, but I realized it’s not possible for people to because I have the means to provide for them. I didn’t compromise who I was. I was there for the homeless person as if it were me in that position and followed my heart to provide for her to get her everything she needed.
Now how’s that, for a Startup Hero?
First Post: Beginnings are hard.
Substack wants me to paste my resume here, but I won’t. All you will know was I was trained to write at UCLA.
1. Why this, why now
A little bit about me, I am the founder of V Ground Zero and a Deal Partner at Boardy Ventures. I consider myself mainly a founder, but I am a deal partner because I am one foot in venture.
My Substack is here to chronicle my journey as a founder-VC, share dealflow, and views on the books I read.
2. Community: For whom is this for?
Those in the valley perusing interesting deals and books, a fresh perspective from some girl living in Silicon Beach but sometimes tip toeing back to Techcrunch, and those looking to break into it.
3. Timing of my Posts
I will try to keep most of my posts free, unless they are like lengthy once-upon-a-dry-summer essays. They’ll be up and coming once every two weeks.
